Singapore’s workplace fatality rate fell to its lowest level in 2025 at 0.96, and similarly the workplace major injuries rate fell to 15.7 per 100,000 workers. These are the lowest within the last decade, ignoring COVID year in 2020. Construction industry contributed the largest portion at 24%.
The number of total workplace injuries reported in 2025 was 22,710 which is 2.5% higher than 2024 (excl. platform workers). This translates to 1.2% increase in workplace injury rate.
Top five causes of major injuries were slips, trips and falls (STF), Falls from height, Machinery incidents, vehicular incidents and struck by falling objects. For minor injuries, the top five were slips, trips and falls (STF), machinery incidents, over-exertion/strenuous movements, struck by moving objects, struck by falling objects, and vehicular incidents.
The number of occupational diseases reported in 2025 increased by 14%, and the top three contributors were noise-induced hearing loss, work-related musculoskeletal disorders, and occupational skin diseases.
