Implementation of the Three-year Fire Certificate (FC) Regime from 1 April 2026
To help businesses reduce regulatory compliance costs, SCDF will implement extended Fire Certificate (FC) validity period of three years for renewal starting from 1 April 2026 onwards. Under this new regime, you only need to submit renewal applications only once every three years, at least two months prior to expiry.
The requirement to engage a Professional Engineer (PE) to conduct annual inspections of the fire safety systems and submit the FC form certifying that they are in good working condition remains.
SCDF will continue to conduct random audits on PE inspections throughout the FC validity period, including non-renewal years.
